YAKIMA -- Katelin Urquhart, a 6-foot forward from Highland, has announced her intention to continue her basketball career at Yakima Valley Community College, Yaks coach Cody Butler said Wednesday.

Urquhart averaged 14.5 points and 10.5 rebounds a game last season for the Scotties. She was an all-SCAC first-team selection in each of the last two years.

"Kate improved a great deal throughout her senior year," Butler said in a college release. "We watched her play early and then went back and watched her at the district tournament, and it was like watching two different players."

Prosser graduate Cade Wandling, the Class 2A state 400-meter champion last spring, has decided to attended Clark College in Vancouver.

Wandling, who also played on the Mustangs' unbeaten football team in 2007, led the Valley in the 400 with a school record of 48.38 seconds.
