WHITE SWAN -- A Toppenish resident died Friday night after losing control of his vehicle near White Swan.
The 34-year-old man was driving west in a 1992 Oldsmobile on Branch Road, according to the Washington State Patrol. At about 8:20 p.m., his vehicle rolled near Hinman Road, 11/2 miles north of White Swan. He was declared dead at the scene. His name is being withheld until his family is notified.
His two passengers were injured and brought to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, according to a news release. One passenger was Gilbert Berry, 30, of Aliquippa, Pa. His condition was unavailable Saturday. The other passenger was an unidentified 8-year-old boy from Toppenish, whose condition was also unavailable.
The use of alcohol is being investigated in relation to the crash, according to police.
