YAKIMA -- Gilbert Cellars will open its new tasting room and bistro at the historic Lund building on Front Street and Yakima Avenue on Monday.

The tasting room will open from noon to 6 p.m. daily, but once Gilbert
Cellars receives the necessary permits, it will begin offering food catered by the Greystone restaurant and Essencia Bakery. It will also be open later Wednesday to Saturday, said general manager Sean Gilbert.

Brothers Sean and Nate Gilbert founded the winery in 2004. Its wines has garnered several awards, including silver trophies for its 2006 chardonnay, 2006 cabernet sauvignon and its 2005 malbec at this year's Washington State Wine Competition.
