Happy Fourth of July, everyone!
It's always a special treat when a national holiday falls next to a weekend so you get three days to goof off.
And Guilty Pleasures will be doing plenty of that. Here's the Independence Day agenda:
* Celebrate America's great sense of imagination and self-examination by watching, in front of the air conditioner, season three of "Battlestar Galactica."
* Go out to the Naches Valley Independence Day Festival to catch teen blues-rockers Captain Electric & The Anorexic Puppies. (Then run away before people start setting off their fireworks. "Safe and sane," yeah, right.)
* Work on those oh-so-rusty softball skills after coming away very purple-black-and-blue after last weekend's slowpitch double-header. Nothing proves how out of shape you are like several hours of playing softball in 101-degree heat.
* Drink booze punch in a snapset kiddie pool at a friend's soon-to-be-legendary Fifth of July party.
* Recover with more "Battlestar Galactica."
Yes, all in all, it's going to be a great three-day weekend.
However, while this is the land of the free and the home of the brave, please, please, please be smart and don't set Guilty Pleasures' house on fire with your contraband Roman candles and Saturn Missile Batteries. Thanks!
* Guilty Pleasures is a weekly look at whatever Guilty Pleasures wants to look at.
