The Seattle Mariners will pay homage to the Central Washington fastpitch players lauded for an unusual act of sportsmanship earlier this season.

Central Washington's Mallory Holtman and Liz Wallace, along with Western Oregon's Sara Tucholsky, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before tonight's game between the Mariners and the San Diego Padres at Safeco Field, according to a news release from the Mariners.

The trio earned national attention after Tucholsky hit her first career home run on April 26.

Tucholsky injured her knee while returning to touch first base and was unable to circle the bases under her own power. Holtman and Wallace stepped in and carried their opponent around the bases.

Western Oregon won the game 4-2 and went on to play in the NCAA Division II playoffs.

The Wolves lost in the Western Regional final to Humboldt State.
