Soon it'll be Memorial Day weekend, which means summer is just around the corner.
And summer fun doesn't end when the sun goes down. Just grab your flashlight and favorite camping chair and head to Yakima Sportsman State Park, 904 Keys Road, for the Summer Campfire Program series.
A variety of programs is offered each Saturday through Labor Day and begins at 7 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Admission and parking are free, and marshmallows are provided afterward for roasting.
Here's the schedule:
* May 24: "Vineyards of Yakima Valley." A look at the rapidly growing grape and wine industry of the area. A new program presented by the Rattlesnake Hills Wine Trail.
* May 31 and June 7: Bob Tuck presents "Local Yakima Birds and Animals." See and feel furs, skulls, antlers and horns.
