YAKIMA -- Relying on their defenses to do most of the work, Sunnyside and Grandview took care of home-field business on Tuesday and advanced in the state boys soccer playoffs.
After a scoreless first half, Sunnyside pulled away for a 2-0 victory over Kamiakin in the first round of the Class 3A playoffs and extended its win streak to 10 matches.
In the 2A playoffs, Grandview outlasted West Valley of Spokane 1-0 in double overtime on Sammy Villa's goal in the 89th minute.

"It's the second time we've advanced this far. We just have to keep working hard, be humble and take them one match at a time."
