Lukehart goes for three touchdowns to lead Rangers

GOLDENDALE -- Nic Lukehart rushed for 221 yards and three touchdowns as Naches Valley remained undefeated in SCAC West football with a 44-13 victory over Goldendale on Thursday.

Lukehart, a junior running back, scored on runs of 4, 1 and 5 yards and racked up his career-high yardage on 23 carries. He now has 12 touchdowns in six games.

With their fourth straight win, the Rangers improved to 4-0 in the West and 4-2 for the season. NV has averaged 47 points during the win streak.

Goldendale, which came in with a three-game win streak, slipped to 2-1 in the West and 3-2 overall.

NV's Ethan Flory intercepted two passes, returning one 35 yards for a touchdown during a 24-point second quarter. Teammate Brandon Gillespie threw for 101 yards and one touchdown.

Goldendale, which trailed 31-0 at halftime, got a 111-yard rushing effort from Kyle Cairns.

The Timberwolves travel to Granger, which is also 2-1 in the West, next Friday while Naches Valley has a non-league crossover at home against Burbank.
